James McConnell, Ph.D. |
Dr. James McConnell is a Professor Emeritus in the Teaching, Learning and Leadership Studies
Department at Kent State University. During his career he has been a classroom teacher, counselor,
principal, and teacher educator. His major interests and areas of expertise include: instructional
supervision, staff development, curriculum leadership, cooperative learning, and classroom assessment.
He has conducted numerous workshops for teachers and administrators. Dr. McConnell has focused
his work on increasing student achievement through effective staff development, curriculum dialogue,
and instructional leadership. He is currently employed by the Ohio Far East Region 12 and serves as
the district school improvement coach of the East Liverpool School District (Ohio).
