Consultation for Planning
Three services are offered:

Assistance with planning curriculum writing,
assistance in planning school and district-based implementation of
the balanced curriculum, and teaching school and/or district-based
implementation teams facilitation strategies to ensure the
curriculum is taught and assessed.

Planning Curriculum Writing
This service assists
districts in planning how the curriculum will be written. Under expert
guidance, districts decide:
·
the criteria for selection of representative teachers,
·
a schedule of staff development times,
·
roles of central office and school administrators in the
writing process
·
site selection and site support planning for the training
·
communication plan to assure all school district groups
know about the balanced curriculum process.
·
Planning school and district-based implementation
·
training of school administrators to monitor curriculum
implementation and handle resistant staff,
·
reporting requirements of teachers in schools
·
reporting requirements of schools to the central office
·
role of central office administration
·
rubrics for determining effective school implementation
·
rubrics for determining effective central office
administration
·
teleconferences to each school for progress reports on
implementation successes and needs.

Facilitation Strategies
Work
with school implementation and district implementation teams to learn
facilitation skills of listening, problem solving, and conflict
resolution skills so that the curriculum can be more effectively
implemented. This work is highly recommended for school teams to assist
with curriculum implementation.
